Chets Creek Church:

After having one flight cancelled due to the weather produced by tropical storm Alex, the team from Chets Creek Church was determined to show Roatan, Honduras exactly what an organized whirlwind was all about.

Youth Discipleship

Todd Middleton started this week with a goal in mind, getting the youth leaders of the Colonia in a program where they can grow their faith in Christ.

VBS

Week one of VBS we had an average close to 168 children per day. VBS is a great outreach tool to engage the youth in the Colonia, with a bible story, music, games, and crafts.

    Food Ministry

Handing out rice and beans to the people of the Colonia served two purposes: we were able to provide a serious need with the food, but the service also provided us an awesome opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus. Here is the youngest member of the Chets Creek team using an e-cube to tell the story of Jesus.

Building Project

The men from Chets Creek partnered up with some friends from the mainland Honduras who work for the International Mission Builders to put together a 2 room cement block addition on a home. The rooms will now function as bedrooms, and also as a weather shelter.

Women’s Bible Study

Discipleship is a huge necessity here for the people of the Colonia. The women from Chets Creek were able to hold a bible study for the women of the area, maxing out the capacity of the room with 75 women attending.

Storage Room/Hurricane Shelter

As weather can become an issue very quickly on the island, the need for a hurricane shelter is great. Another group of men from Chets Creek work on converting a storage room to a functional hurricane shelter if needed.

Electrical "Work"

Even in a third-world country, far away from the comforts of the United States, one universal thought still holds true… Electricians MUST stay away from plumbing.

We were left with our hands full after our

"multi-tasking" electricians left the scene.

Theresa Imbach, Leader Chets Creek Mission Team

Theresa Imbach took the responsibility to lead her second mission team, a large group of 27 members from Chets Creek Church. Before she led her first mission team, having never even been on a mission trip before, Theresa and her husband Chris were on the island of Roatan to do some scuba diving when they got the chance to experience the Colonia. While in the Colonia, she saw a young child carrying water in a bleach container back and forth multiple times from the water tank to their home. This experience really changed her outlook and spurred her on to take part in the ministry here in Roatan.

Randy Hughes, Team Member Chets Creek Church

Randy is a member of the Chets Creek Church mission team that was here during the week of June 26th through July 3rd. As Henry would put it, God was messing with this guy, and this is a great testimony of his trip here

A word from Henry:

Theresa is the leader of LW4R Board, and it is evident she is following God’s call for LW4R.

God has increased the territory of HIS organization, and because of this we are in a time needing prayer warriors. We have been given the great privilege of helping the 4,000 plus people living in the Colonia with  improved, Water, Food, Sports, Education {secular and spiritual}, Erosion, Trash, Sanitation ministry opportunities.

But we still have a long way to go, and we are asking those of you who have a vested interest in LW4R for your support in prayer. One huge prayer need in order to fulfill what we believe God is calling together is the process of attaining the land we believe to be chosen for the future expansion of the ministry here. Please pray for this land, maybe God is messing with you regarding providing financial support, if HE has spoken to you in this area, please do not miss this opportunity.

God is dealing with you, if you have heard that still small voice, you may not know this side of heaven the impact you will have on these beautiful people especially the kids, but one thing I believe will happen: someone in heaven will come running to you with a BIG THANK YOU!

Henry Zittrower

Thank you for taking the time to read this update, more updates coming.

Here at LW4R, it is our desire that the people who live in the Colonia come to know God in a greater capacity and put their trust in Him completely. We believe it is stated best in Psalm 91, verses 2 and 4: “I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’ He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.”
